Summer Plans

Well summer is here (supposedly) no college until September so I want to keep myself busy with my design work, I have been asked to redesign one of the lounges in my local bar, where they have asked me to modernise it and create a more friendly atmosphere to it, I am really excited about this as it is a live project I have managed to gain from my own word of mouth.

Weekely Theme : Portfolio

This week I have completed my portfolio containing my best pieces of design work which will be showcased to future possible employees, I wanted to achieve a portfolio that was bright and had a recognisable style throughout,  I believe I have done this and am looking forward to adding to it with the more work I produce over the years.

Reflection

Well this year has been a tough one, I have felt under pressure at times and felt that work has got on top of me but I have done it and am here to tell the story.  I have learnt alot of new skills this year and felt I have been able to gain more experience within my year, I have really enjoyed the projects on retail design and my live competition for Satelliet Browns.  The year has been helped along with the support given from my tutors and friends on my course without this help i would have thrown it away but have managed to keep going.  I am looking forward to returning next year for my final year, which I cant believe how fast the time has gone, enjoyed every minute of it.

Paul Smith Competition

My Paul Smith Competition entry, the aim of  the competition was to design and decorate an envelope which had to include the address of the new Paul Smith shop opening in London, this was then to be sent to Paul Smith so the could select so many enveloped to create a collage on the wall of the new store opening later on this year.  For my envelope I decided to keep it traditional with the Paul Smith stripes in a mini but also included some buttons to the edges in various colours to give the envelope some texture but keeping the idea of using various colours which are in the traditional Paul Smith stripes.
